Setting The Date

Timming is an important factor in every action you take in life, especially when it comes to Moving! - Take these factor in account:

* Rent contract - Most leases require at least one month’s notice before your move date. When you’re preparing to move, make sure to read the small print in your lease to avoid any penalties and get your full deposit back.

* Career - Move at least a week before your new job start date! This way, there’s enough time for you to move into your new place and settle in. If your job is relocating you a few states away or even to a different country, you should allot a few days or another week in preparation.

* School - Move before the school year starts and after the school year ends. This will be easier for them to transition into a new school. Starting in the middle of the school year is hard on children.

* Season - Over 60% of moves take place between June and October. During those months the weather is usually ideal. Packing during the winter can be difficult and complicated - because most moves takes place during those months the movers rates also higher those months.

* Movers availability - I f you don't have a deadline issue you can save some money making the move during winter time when Movers are availble.

Packing

Before you start packing, you can reduce the amount of packing materials you'll need by reducing the amount of things you'll need to pack. Donate unwanted items to charity or sell some stuff off at a garage sale. Not only will you lighten your load, but you'll save space at your new home.

Boxes, packing tape, bubble wrap, foam packing material: all of these things are involved in the process of packing up your home.

Use sturdy boxes or plastic totes. All the boxes should be closed and sealed in order to stack them easier and to protect your articles.
Use boxes with tops or flaps and make sure that they are clean of insects.
Use the right supplies and various size cartons. Smallest boxes should be used for the heaviest items. The lighter items should be on the top of the box, while the heavier are placed in the bottom.
There are specially designed boxes for some of the items—upright cartons for lamps or statues, dish packs for dishes, picture/mirror boxes, wardrobe boxes, etc. The added protection of these cartons helps to avoid damage resulting from poor quality packing material.
